CANA was formed in 1998 to be the Australian branch of the global CAN network, with representative groups in over 70 nations

Futureworld: National Centre for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) Inc. was formed in 1992 and is an Australian non-profit organisation collaborating with government, private enterprise, professional experts, and the community to create and develop a large comprehensive national centre for demonstrating, exhibiting and promoting Environmentally Appropriate Technologies.

Futureworld aims to be recognised as the national leader in fostering and demonstrating Environmentally Appropriate Technologies (EATs) that stimulate, promote and enhance Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) in a socially and economically beneficial manner.
